Terms of Service

Last updated: July 6, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of ParentFlare — the app, the website, and your family's email forwarding address. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.

1. What ParentFlare Is

ParentFlare turns the school emails, flyers, photos, and notes you send it into an organized family schedule: calendar events, deadlines, and action items that you review and approve. It is a tool for parents and guardians to manage their family's logistics, shared with the family members you invite.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a parent or legal guardian (or another adult managing a household's schedule) to use ParentFlare. Accounts are for adults; children do not use the service.

3. Beta Software

ParentFlare is currently in an invite-only beta, distributed through Apple TestFlight. That means:

  • The service is provided free of charge during the beta.
  • Features may change, break, or be removed without notice.
  • Data loss is possible. Keep the original school emails and paper forms — ParentFlare is a lens on them, not a replacement for them.
  • We may end the beta, or your access to it, at any time.

If we later introduce paid plans, we will tell you clearly and in advance. You will never be silently charged.

4. Schedule Accuracy — Please Read This One

ParentFlare extracts events, dates, and deadlines from the content you send in automatically. That extraction can be wrong or incomplete: a date can be misread, a detail missed, a cancellation not caught. This is why every item goes through your review before it lands on the calendar.

You are responsible for verifying important dates, deadlines, and requirements against the original source. ParentFlare is a convenience layer over your family's information, not a guarantee. We are not responsible for missed events, missed deadlines, unsigned forms, or other consequences of relying on extracted schedule information without checking it.

5. Your Content

The emails, photos, and notes you send to ParentFlare remain yours. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to provide the service to you and your family, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for the content you send in. Only forward emails and share photos that you have the right to share, and only invite family members you intend to share your family's schedule with — everyone in your family account sees the shared schedule.

6. Your Account and Family

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for the activity that happens under your account. Inviting someone to your family gives them access to your family's shared schedule and content; invite thoughtfully. If a family relationship changes, contact us at hello@parentflare.com and we will help you sort out account access.

7. Acceptable Use

Don't use ParentFlare to violate the law, to send content you have no right to share, to attempt to access other families' data, or to probe, disrupt, or overload the service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that do.

8. Third-Party Services

ParentFlare connects to services you control, like Google Calendar and Apple TestFlight. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. Events written to your calendar are yours and remain on your calendar if you stop using ParentFlare.

9. Feedback

The beta exists to learn from you. If you send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas, we can use them to improve ParentFlare without owing you anything — though we'll be genuinely grateful.

10. Termination

You can stop using ParentFlare and request deletion of your account at any time by emailing hello@parentflare.com. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms or, during the beta, as part of winding down or changing the program. Upon termination, your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Disclaimers

ParentFlare is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that extracted schedule information will be accurate or complete.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ParentFlare and its creators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including missed events, missed deadlines, or lost data — arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of fifty dollars ($50) or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which, during the free beta, is zero).

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes during the beta, by telling you directly. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
