Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your name and email address, provided through Google Sign-In or email and password registration. If you sign in with Google, your Google profile photo is displayed in the app but is not stored on our servers.
Caregiver Profile. When you set up a family profile, you may optionally provide your parenting style (a self-described approach to parenting), and family preferences (a free-text description of what works for your family).
Home Environment. You may optionally provide your city and state (used for weather-aware suggestions), home type, outdoor space, and size (used to suggest activities that fit your space), and a supply inventory of what you typically have on hand.
Children's Age Groups. Age group selections (toddler, little kid, big kid) are stored in your family profile to personalize activity suggestions. We do not collect children's names, birthdates, photos, or any individually identifiable information about children. The age group selector for non-signed-in users is stored only in your browser's local storage and is never sent to our servers.
Activity History. When you rate an AI-generated activity, plan, or coaching script, we store the feature used, the situation you described, the title of the result, and your rating. This data is linked to your caregiver account, not to any individual child.
Location Data. Your city and state, if provided, are stored in your profile for weather and regional context. When you use the app, we may request your device's location through your browser to provide local weather information. GPS coordinates are used only for the current session and are never stored in our database, local storage, or logs. They are discarded when you close or navigate away from the app.
Payment Information. Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, bank account details, or other payment credentials on our servers.
Analytics. We use PostHog for anonymous product analytics (page views, feature usage, session data). No personal information is shared with advertisers.
We use your information to personalize your experience, provide AI-generated content, provide weather-aware suggestions, process payments, and improve the service.
Your caregiver profile, home environment, supply inventory, family preferences, children's age groups, recent activity ratings, and current weather are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate personalized responses. No children's names or individually identifiable child data is sent because we do not collect it.
Your city/state or session GPS location is used to fetch current weather conditions from Open-Meteo, a free weather API. Session GPS coordinates are also sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service for reverse geocoding (converting coordinates to a city name for display purposes only).

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
ParentFlare does not collect personally identifiable information about children. We do not collect children's names, birthdates, photos, school information, health data, behavioral data, or any other information that identifies a specific child. The only child-related data we store is the age group category selected by the parent, which is associated with the parent's account and describes the household composition, not individual children. Because we do not collect children's personal information, COPPA data collection requirements are not triggered by this service.
Access and correction. You can view and edit all of your profile information directly in the app by tapping your name and visiting your profile page.
Deletion. You can delete your account and all associated data by contacting us at hello@parentflare.com. Upon deletion, we will permanently remove your caregiver profile, home environment, supply profile, activity history, and family data. This action cannot be undone.
Data portability. You may request a copy of your data by contacting us at hello@parentflare.com.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA). If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, request deletion of your personal information, opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information), and exercise these rights without discrimination. Location permissions. You can revoke location permissions at any time through your browser settings. The app will fall back to your stored city/state for weather, or skip weather entirely if no location is available.
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data transmission, Row Level Security policies in our database ensuring users can only access their own data, Supabase authentication with secure session management, and no storage of payment credentials.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently deleted through cascading database deletion. Anonymous analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this section. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
